Berlin’s
biggest techno event since the Love Parade will take place on
June 4 at the former Tempelhof Airport. The A&P Summer
Rave was already completely sold out in the last year, and in
2011 up to 20,000 audience members are expected.
World-renowned DJs, Berlin house legends, and talented
newcomers will be spinning the disks when the motto is “more

“Fifty Kilometers of Files – An Accessible Stasi Radio Play”
makes time travel possible. Original soundtracks and reports
from the East German secret police files were recorded and can
be experienced through June 7 at the sites where they
originally took place. The audio documents can be heard on GPS

the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the automobile, the
new permanent exhibition “Man on the Move” opened in the
German Museum of Technology on May 13. In the new
“Technoversum” section of the museum, fans of cars,

one year after the opening of the “Topography of Terror”, some
600,000 people have visited the documentation center of the
Nazi period. On the former site of the SS and Gestapo
headquarters, testimony of the Nazi reign of terror is
displayed on 8,600 sq. ft. The exhibition “The Trial – Adolf
Eichmann in Court” may still be seen there until September 18.

been a long time now that the district of Neukölln has
developed from being a social flashpoint to an up-and-coming
cultural district. During “48h Neukölln”, numerous galleries
will open their doors for residents and visitors from June 17

transform their courtyards into pop-up discos, turning the

in Berlin | |
If
you believe for a minute that there is no Carnival celebration
in Berlin, then you’ve got to be kidding! More than 4,800
artists from seventy countries will be dancing to samba
rhythms and the beating of drums at the parade on June 12,
while at the same time celebrating the “Carnival of Cultures”.
Accompanying the colorful procession will be a big street
festival from June 10 to 13. | | |

Every
year, at the official beginning of summer on June 21, the
“Fête de la Musique“ takes place in Berlin, just as it is
celebrated at the same time in more than 340 cities all over
the world. The mood will be set by four thousand musicians on
103 stages, for the first time in every district of Berlin.
The city party starts up at 4:00 P.M., and admission is free.
